Google Adsense

Google Adsense is considered a contextual content matching advertising program ran by the internet behemoth Google. What it does is match the displayed ads with the content that is on the page. The ads displayed can either be text or picture displays, depending on the setup for that ad block. Website publishers then get paid whenever a surfer clicks on an ad, with payouts per click ranging from a few cents to several dollars.

Google Adsense is a wonderful way for anyone to make money from their website. There are many web publishers that make a very comfortable salary using just Google Adsense on their websites, yet there are some that make very little. As with any other type of online money making program, the name of the game is traffic. Quite obviously the more traffic to your site the more the likely your ads will be clicked. However, it’s not just about traffic. Since the ads are match to the sites content, the earnings per click will vary depending on what the site is about.

There are numerous tricks and tips that publishers offer that will increase your Google Adsense click through ratio, thus increasing your revenue. A word to the wise though…never click your own ads, don’t ask friends and family to click your ads, and always follow the TOS as published on the Google Adsense website.
